Many years ago I was told that if I felt cold, I should imagine myself in a hot, sunny location and my body would start to feel warmer. If that visualisation had a sound track, ‘Do You Hear’ by Cub Scouts would definitely be on it.
Cub Scouts are a five piece, Brisbane based indie-pop band who have built a steady following after the success of their first single ‘Evie’ through Triple J Unearthed. Their latest release, ‘Do You Hear’, is the second single off their eagerly anticipated EP and has already gained recognition winning Song of The Year and the Pop award at the recent Queensland Music Awards.
Lead singer, Tim Nelson’s vocals are hypnotically smooth again on this track, and the uptempo beat is impossible not to move to. If you are anything like me, you may also find yourself with an unrelenting desire to grab your own tambourine and join in the fun.
This is an aussie band to watch and one to make sure you have on your summer road trip playlist. Check out the video for ‘Do You Hear’ below and keep an eye out for the release of their upcoming debut EP produced and recorded by John Castles (Washington, The Cat Empire).
